Ride Yangu — Car Rental Booking Platform

Car rental businesses in Kenya largely operate through WhatsApp threads, phone calls, and paper booking logs. Vehicles get double-booked. Deposits are collected informally. There is no clear record of which cars are out, with whom, and for how long. For the customer, the experience is frustrating — they have to call around, describe what they want, wait for a response, and trust a manual process for something as significant as a vehicle booking.

We built Ride Yangu — a full car rental platform for fleet owners and their customers.

Customers browse available vehicles with rich filtering: price range, mileage, fuel type, transmission, and availability dates. They specify their rental duration, review the total cost, pay a deposit via M-Pesa STK Push, and receive instant booking confirmation. After the trip, they can rate their experience — giving the fleet owner genuine feedback and building credibility with future renters.

Fleet owners get a management dashboard to handle everything on their end: add and update vehicle listings, manage incoming bookings, track which vehicles are out and when they return, and monitor revenue over time. The system handles the coordination so the owner can focus on the fleet, not the admin.
